THE BATMOBILE

Batmobile Documentary in the Works by Warner Bros.Batman first appeared in May of 1939 in Detective Comics #27, and although the first true Batmobile did not appear for another two years, it has become one of the Dark Knight’s best known weapons.The Batmobile made its career debut in Batman #5, then appeared on a comic cover for the first time for Batman #20. Because of different artists’ interpretations of what the car should be, it changed size, shape, and features frequently. Later, as the car was marketed beyond the comics, more forms appeared based on practical or aesthetic considerations. In the 1960s, the first full size, fully operational Batmobile was built for the TV show Batman, and had to face financial and functional questions. A few years later the design of this car would be modified for use in the Superfriends cartoon series, with the unique considerations of making a car that could be easily drawn repeatedly for animation. Then, nearly three decades after the TV series, Batman returned to live action with Warner Brothers Batman movies. At about the same time, Batman: The Animated series came out, with a whole new take on the design of Batman and his universe. All of this was on top of the natural evolution of the car over 60+ years, taking into account new technological features like the jet engine and the computer

Caterham F1 Team Moves To Leafield

The Caterham F1 Team has started with its move to Leafield (United Kingdom) as their headquarters will be located there. The team is currently based in Hingham in the UK and will move to their new location where Caterham Cars, Caterham Composites and Caterham Technology and Innovation are based, which means their Formula 1 and GP2 team will be put under the same roof.

Team Principal Tony Fernandes said, “Work has now started at Leafield. More than 200 of the F1 team staff are making the move to Oxfordshire over the next few weeks and when we have finished the refurbishment, in late October 2012, we will have a facility that will put us on a par with the teams we are trying to catch in F1. Importantly, it will also give us the base we need to allow Caterham Group to achieve the impossible for many years to come.”

Technical Director Mark Smith also believes the move will make a difference for the team as he said: “In common with most of the current employees of the F1 team I have moved back nearer to our new base in Leafield and I am very excited about the future this gives us, not just for the F1 team but Caterham Group as a whole.”

“The Leafield site is perfect for our needs in F1, GP2 and all our interests in motorsport now and in the future and it also gives us the platform to expand into any industry that sees that we can provide new ideas and world-class performance.”

Leading an all-star international cast, Oscar(R) winner Christian Bale (“The Fighter”) again plays the dual role of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Anne Hathaway, as Selina Kyle; Tom Hardy, as Bane; Oscar(R) winner Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”), as Miranda Tate; and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as John Blake. Dark Knight at Silverstone ~ LOTUS F1

Lotus F1 team is delighted to announce that it will join forces with The Dark Knight Rises – the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight motion picture trilogy – this weekend at Silverstone for the 2012 British Grand Prix.

To celebrate the partnership between Lotus F1 Team and The Dark Knight Rises at this weekends’ British Grand Prix both E20s – in addition to the team’s garage, driver helmets and overalls – will feature the film’s iconic logo throughout the Grand Prix weekend. The legendary Tumbler vehicle will also be performing an on-track display with the Lotus F1 Team car and drivers Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean.

The display will take place on Thursday 5th July at 12pm on track at Silverstone (start/finish line) for Formula 1 accredited media, followed by a brief Q&A and photo call with both drivers, including the legendary motorcycle from the Dark Knight films, the Bat-Pod. For the remainder of the weekend, the Tumbler will be on show at the Sky display stand in the grounds of Silverstone.
