Ford’s all new global compact SUV EcoSport has been the talk of the town ever since it was unveiled at the Auto Expo earlier this year. While Ford has confirmed that it won’t be launching the EcoSport this year, testing on the home turf seems to be on full swing.

Pictures of completely undisguised EcoSport being tested in Chennai have surfaced on the internet. The production-ready EcoSport doesn’t look any different from the prototype displayed at the Auto Expo. Missing here are just the LED headlamps and chrome garnishing on that large trapezoidal front grille.
Spied in Chennai is the Titanium TDCI model powered by the 1.5-litre diesel engine borrowed from the Fiesta. However, the highlight of the EcoSport is expected to be the new 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, EcoBoost petrol engine. Wonder how on earth does a 1.0- litre engine pull an SUV? That’s the wizardry of the EcoBoost powertrain technology, which enables this tiny engine chug out the performance of a conventional 1.6-litre engine. Downsized EcoBoost engines feature turbochargers that can reach nearly 250,000 rpm delivering a peak torque of 170 Nm from 1,300-4,500 rpm.
The EcoSport will be one of the eight products Ford planning to bring to India by 2015.

Vehicle orginally was wrecked and claimed life of the driver. Henry Ford rebuilt the machine and pursued a land speed record at 91.369 mph in 1903.

The attempt took place on Lake St. Clair Michigan on January 12 1904. Was first time record attempt was out of French Territory. It was powered by an in-line 4 cylinder engine with a capacity of 15,700 cc’s with 72 bhp and driven by Henry Ford.

2012 Ford Figo Facelift

The Figo has been a runaway success for Ford India. The Figo changed the fortunes of Ford. After completing almost three years, Ford is ready to introduce the facelift version of the Figo. The Figo facelift is due to come during Diwali. The hatchback will get some cosmetic changes on the outside- which could be the some touches from the Kinetic Design 2.0. On the inside also, we can expect some minor cosmetic updates. The other additions on the facelift version of the Figo include steering-mounted audio controls, and also USB connectivity.

There is also news that the Figo will have push-start and keyless entry. But our sources confirm that these features might not come in the revamped version. However, we do hope Ford introduces power windows for the rear passengers and also factory-fitted alloys, to up its ante.
