1912 VERDEL 750cc OHV 5 cylinder Radial engine Vintage Motorcycle , Very Rare Motorcycle .Verdel manufactured airplane engines in the UK, but never motorcycles. Packard built motorcycles in the UK and from what I understand, this was a union between the two to build such a bike. No original Verdels are known to exist. There are only three or four “fake” Verdels, however, they’re built using the same frame geometry and engines as the originals.( VIDEO BELOW )

VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE ART

The Rudge 'bitsa', built by Jean-Claude Barrois.

The Rudge ‘bitsa’, built by Jean-Claude Barrois.

This bike has had a chequered life, starting out as a 1928 Soyer—a French brand that produced motorcycles between 1920 and 1935.Soyer used a variety of engines for their motorcycles, including
JAP, Sturmey Archer and Chaise. This particular Soyer 07S had a JAP engine but the frame was wrecked, so Barrois built his own frame—and eventually replaced the JAP motor with the 500cc Rudge unit you see here.

1947 EMC 350 cc 2 cyl

EMC 1947 Twin 350 cc Dr Joseph Ehrlich

EMC 1947 Twin 350 cc Dr Joseph Ehrlich was a wealthy Austrian and keen motorcycle enthusiast who became the acknowledged authority on two-stroke single racing bikes. Ehrlich moved to the UK and set up EMC after the Second World War with a factory at Isleworth. Production focussed on a 350 cc split single motorcycle based on German engineering using two cylinders and pistons with a common combustion chamber. One cylinder housed the exhaust ports and the other the transfer ports. This EMC was built in 1947, but as they were a, expensive and b, of complicated design, the british motor cycle fraternity would not buy them, approx 200 bikes were sold in the UK, and about 26 still exist.

It was created as a concept but never put into production making this R7 the only one of its kind in the world. It had not been seen for nearly 70 years when it was discovered in 2005 whereupon it was restored by BMW Group Classic. 1909 Moto-Rêve V-Twin

1909 Moto-Rêve V-Twin - vintage motorcycles - rare motorcycle

Moto-Rêve made complete motorcycles and proprietary engines for sale to other manufacturers between 1904 and 1925, setting up a UK-based subsidiary that manufactured motorcycles under the ‘Alp’ name. Pioneers of the small-capacity v-twin, Moto-Rêve made much of its products’ lack of weight, advertising a complete machine weighing just 39kgs (86lbs), of which the power unit complete with magneto and carburettor accounted for just 13kgs (29lbs). In common with many of their contemporaries, early Moto-Rêve engines used ‘atmospheric’ inlet valves, the side exhaust valve being opened mechanically, and were secured to the frame by clamps, an arrangement that facilitated their installation by other manufacturers. Extremely well made, these jewel-like little engines incorporated gear drive for cams and magneto.
